Soaps & Bubbles

Bubble Stuff #1

2 cups Joy dishwashing soap
6 cups warm whttp://img4.realsimple.com/images/08family/girl-blowing-bubbles_300.jpgater
3/4 cup Karo corn syrup (clear)

Combine ingredients and stir gently until well mixed. Let settle for at least four hours. Store in fridge and allow to return to room temperature before using. Avoid stirring after initial mixing as it foams. Avoid exposing bubble mix to direct sun.

Bubble Stuff #2

1 cup Liquid detergent – preferably Dawn or Joy
2 cups Water
3 Tablespoons Glycerin
1/2 teaspoon sugar

Mix all ingredients in a flat container such as a dishpan or baking pan. Store extra bubble solution in airtight container.

Giant Soap Bubbles

1/2 cup Joy or Dawn Dish Detergent 5 cups Cold Water 2 Tablespoons Glycerine
Carefully measure ingredients and stir slowly together. Allow to sit in refrigerator overnight. Bring to room temperature before attempting use. Keeps indefinitely.

For wands:

Make a round loop with a clothes hanger by rounding the three sides. Use the ‘hook’ as your handle. Dip wand into bubble solution, wave in air to create giant bubbles. This works better on a cloudy day, or in early morning or late afternoon, as sun tends to dry out bubbles. You can also make a large batch of this solution, put in a kid’s plastic swimming pool, and use a hula hoop as a wand for HUGE bubbles .
